HIGH SEA COD FISHING
|
| If you're
into Hig-Sea fishing for cod, Denmark can offer some fine |
| opportunities for
this kind of fishing. The North Sea as well as the |
| Baltic Sea and resund holds good stocks of
cod though you have |
| to use fishing boats to approach the
places to fish. |
| |
| Cods can be fished throughout the
year but Autumn and Winter |
| months are normally considered the
best. There are no general |
| rules for the protection of the cod
neither in the Baltic Sea nor in |
| Skagerak or the North Sea which is
rather strange since the stock |
| has been put under pressure for
years. It's not becoming extinct |
| but certain places like the inner waters
of Denmark - along the |
| coasts and in
the fjords - the cod is either totally gone or exhibits |
|
very small numbers! Minimum lenght is
30 cm for the North Sea |
|
and 38 cm for the Baltic cod.

|
Fishing for cod is nowadays a question of
identifying where the fish |
|
is through electronic equipment and
then lowering your bait to the |
|
right distance. Rods are normally short,
heavy rods that can stand |
|
the pressure of fightning a big cod through
the water layers while |
|
the line might be 0,7-1,0 mm
thick. |

Cod fishing might be worth a try.... |
