FLY FISHING COURSE - RIVER KARUP |

| River Karup is probably the most famous Danish river due to its | |
| excellent seatrout fishing. At one time the World record belonged | |
| to river Karup with a giant seatrout of 14,4 kg. Nowadays, seatrouts | |
| of +10 kg are taken each year in the little magnificent river. | |
| The river is easily fished with one-hand as well as two-hand rods | |
| at most places and tube flies as well as double and single hook flies | |
| are in use by the river. Patterns such as the Red Tag Palmer, Simple | |
| Blue Man, Johannes, T & L, Nieren as well as other local variants | |
| of well known patterns are all in use by the river... | |
| The river is clear/brownish and most often the water level is about | |
| 1-2 meters in depth. The river is a comparable small river, which makes | |
| it easy to fish with one-hand as well as two-hand rods. Most places the | |
| river is easily fished without vegetation to disturb casting if doing | |
| overhead casts. | |
| The seatrout normally begins to enter the river in late April-mid May | |
| and then continues to run during most of the season. In July you will | |
| often see good runs that within a day or two will be way up the river. | |

| This course aims at presenting you for both daytime and | |
| nighttime fishing for the seatrout. Here you will have a | |

| Seatrout fishing is an exciting endavour - the wave before | |
| the fish when it is about to take, the misty mornings, the | |
| draw in the line when the seatrout takes a "stroll" down | |
| the river, the exciting moments when you know that the | |
| fish are in the mood for some serious engagements... | |

| although in Danish you will probably acknowledge the | |
| moods, the river, the weather.. | |

| TEMPERATURES | ||
| Temperatures do affect the seatrouts willingness to hook | ||
| on a fly or take to a spinner. Water temperatures are to | ||
| 99% affected by air temperature so it might be good idea | ||
| to check prevailing conditions beforehand. | ||
| If the water temperature is too cold or too warm the seatrouts | ||
| behavior will exhibit a state of inactivity and only when | ||
| temperatures rise or fall will behavior change... | ||
