Spin fishing courses

Spinning for the seatrout is a proven method by river Karup despite fly

fishing being the most popular way to reach the fish. The former world record

seatrout of 14,4 kg was caught on a spoon and some of the anglers along

river Karup swears to the wobbler as THE weapon for catching seatrouts.

The river can sometimes prove a little bit hard to fish using spinners etc.

due to the heavy growth of seaweed in warm summers. This proves the

ultimate challenge to the angler in getting the lure to the seatrout but the

experienced angler can  when he succeeds look forward to a pleasing

reward when the seatrout finally hooks. Most times, however, the river is

easily fished both at the lower and upper stretches and it is the classic

river in Denmark  for fishing seatrouts with each turn of the wheel being

a moment with the possibility of a giant seatrout coming up behind....

The river itself varies as ti its size. In the upper parts it is between 4-6

meters wide, while at the lower stretches it grows to about 6-12 meters

This course is aimed at the beginning as well the experienced angler.

We look into the methods, tactics, choice of lures etc. and introduces

participants to a classic Danish seatrout river and its beats. Generally 

the lessons lasts 3 hours each with individual guiding for participants.

The contents of this 5 day spin fishing course are :

 [ Day 1: 10.00 am - Briefing at the hotel about fishing, practicalities etc.]

   14.00 pm - First lessons by the river

 [ Day 3:  09.30 am - Third lesson by the river ]

 where salmons are located in the river. An

   14.00 am - 18.00 Visit to the Seatrout Centre

 introduction will be given to beats differing

 in the way you fish them and their natural

 [ Day 4: 09.30 - Fourth lesson by the river ]

 characteristics in order to give the most

w using wobblers w fishing tactics during the season w which baits to use w

 comprehensive intro to spin fishing

   20.00 am Dinner with wine tasting programme (ecological reds & whites) 

 [ Day 5: 09.30 am - Fifth lesson by the river ]

w On fighting techniques w landing the fish w Summing up/conclusions

 You will most likely bring your own fishing

 equipment. If not you can rent the various

w The last day of the course we will meet at a small farewell reception and

to the Danish Center for the Wild salmon with guidance and information

about the Atlantic salmon, a night with a wine tasting programme offerering

excellent organically grown wines as well as a course certificate.  Drinks/

provided for by arrangement with the participants.

 Price: EUR 995,-

The Hotel is situated near the places we fish and all transportation is

provided for. We try to find facilities that are certified according to

environmental standards (Green Key) and though not easy it is our aim

that in due time all of our suppliers of services will be certfied according

to either such standards or our own environmental standards.

Meals are included and picknicks arranged for to be taken with you to

the river. One night the chef de cuisine will serve the ultimate fish dishes

that hopefully will provide you with a first hand the art of cooking fish...

There are no limitations as to the number

of seatrouts caught. However, we strongly

suggest that you only take 1 seatrout per

day in the Autumn to preserve the stock.

A minimum of 40 cm lenght is in force

besides that, there are no regulations.
