Ø Spin fishing - river Karup

Ø Spin fishing - river Guden

Ø Spin fishing - river Skjern

Spin fishing is widely used along the river and the salmon and seatrout

alike will willingly take the spinner, spoon or wobbler when its in the mood.

Most places, river Varde is rather easy to fish with spin although the weed

can pose a little problem in the summer. Lures with weights between

10-30 gr will do the job and colors silver, copper and red are all proven

as being able to attract the attention of the fish. Mepps and Myr spinners

Toby and Krokodil spoons and Rapalas are all good bets.

Besides salmon and seatrout river Varde is also reknown for its stock

of steelheads. The exploding wildness of a steelhead that has just taken

the lure is unimaginative - it must be experienced.....

The river saw some major rearrangements during the 60's but is never

the less still a beauty and have actually been put back to its original state

a couple of places, so a visit to river Varde is always an enjoyment....

This course is aimed at the beginning as well the experienced angler.

We look into the methods, tactics, choice of lures etc. and introduces

participants to a classic Danish salmon river and its beats. Generally

the lessons lasts 3 hours each with individual guiding for participants.

River Varde also holds a good stock of

seatrouts mainly in the range of 2-5 kg.

However, from time to time much bigger

fish are landed as the 11,5 kg seatrout

to your right. It took to a fly and is sofar

the biggest seatrout from river Varde.

The seatrout enters the river a little later

than the salmon and offers excellent

fishing from july to the end of the season.

They can be found at the same places

as that of the salmon

A maximum catch of 1 salmon per year
per angler has been introduced as a rule
in 2005 !  This must be welcomed as one
of the means to protect the wild salmon
which still is an endangered species. This
also means that catches will be more
evenly distributed among those who fish
river Varde which especially should be
   welcomed by the visiting angler.

The seatrout and the steelhead have no
limitations as to the number caught. The
min lenghts in force are 60 cm (salmons)
40 cm (seatrout and 25 cm (steelhead).

" We welcomes you to the Danish world  of spin fishing and invites you to come

join us for fishing for the Atlantic salmon in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.."
